What is a community doula?

Community doulas often work with families that are of lower income, younger in age, or have little support. Through Coco Life Collective, I've been trained with a focus on BIPOC communities, but I look to serve anyone who wishes to have extra support during their pregnancy and postpartum journey.

There are many different types of doulas, including those that specialize in the birthing process, fertility support, and lactation care. A community doula is trained to work with you on a broad range of areas, and I am more than happy to collaborate with other members of your care team.

What're the benefits of having a doula?

The saying often goes, moms take care of everyone but no one takes care of them. A doula can provide you (and your family!) the emotional, physical, and informational support you need for a positive birthing experience. This encompasses a wide range of possibilities, from pain-relief techniques to helping you meal prep! No family's needs are the same, but I will always be there to find joy in this journey.

Statistically, families who work with doulas are less likely to experience birth complications, have a c-section, and have other unwanted clinical procedures. As your doula, I am here to advocate for your needs and empower you during your pregnancy and delivery.

What are my fees and pricing?

I work on a sliding scale basis/offer no-cost services. I became a doula to give back to my community, and I never want finances to be the reason you are not receiving the care you deserve.

Standards of care

I am fully up to date with all my vaccinations, believe a fed baby is best, and dedicated to creating a healthy, judgement-free space for you. I am honoured to be welcome in your space, and respect your ways of life in the time we spend together.
