My journey into birthwork:

I have a lifetime of stories of pregnancies and births from my loved ones. There is special joy in hearing the start of a new life, but more often than not these stories were interwoven with frustration and grief. Even with the birth of my twin sister and me, I've seen mothers spoken over, their concerns ignored and their symptoms waved away. Birthing persons, our mother included, often feel like they need to laugh away traumatic experiences that have happened to them because they are labelled as "normal". And in the meantime, our nation's maternal mortality rate continues to skyrocket.

I do not want my community to silently endure. I went into birthwork to celebrate everyone's lived experiences and support families in one of the most transitional times in their lives. Working as a doula gives me the ability to advocate and empower for them, a responsibility I am honoured to take on.

About the Name

What do pine trees have to do with pregnancy? Nothing and everything! As the story goes, I was born loving trees. All kinds of trees really, but white pines especially. Venturing into an evergreen forest gives me a special kind of peace and joy. These are the feelings I want you to experience throughout your pregnancy and birth.
